Author Guidelines

Submision of manuscript to the MEMI Journal

  • Papers submitted to the editorial office through the online system must meet the requirements listed below or listed in the template MS Word file or template RTF file . Please use for the manuscript preparation these template files.
  • The manuscript consist of two basic parts: Cover leter (incl. in template files with basic data of manuscript and suggestions for two reviewer with their contact data) and main text of the article.
  • We recommend to use this order for paper writing (incl. in teplate files):
  1. Title - The paper title should clearly and in details express its subject matter and should have no more than 10 words.
  2. Full names of authors, their affiliations and contact information for coresponding author (full adress, phone, fax and email)
  3. Abstract - Please take into consideration the fact that the full text of an abstract should contain of 100 to 200 words. In the resume put your information how are the objectives achieved, what was the main method(s) used, what the approach to the topic is and what are the main conclusions, etc.
  4. Keywords - Please provide up to five keywords which express the principal topics of the paper.
  5. Introduction - The length of the original scientific article should be between 10 and 20 double line spacing. Please provide the overview of studied scientific area (materials, methodology, ...) with detailed state of the art. This section should include min. 10 references to the journal articles or generally availablebooks. On the end of this section please briefly give the main objective of the contribution.
  6. Main text - Experimental part (materials, methodology, procedures, results, discussion,...)
  7. Conclusions - It is necessary to present clearly the main conclusions from the whole paper. It is required to present them in a few points after the general conclusion. The author's achievements and originality of research and the authors' input in the undertaken subject matter and value of study should be emphasised. Practical application and possible directions of further works can be pointed out.
  8. Acknowledgements
  9. References - References should be collected at the end of your paper while during online submission in the individual part for references. They should be listed in the order in which they are cited in the text. The minimum number of the references in original scientific paper is 10. Where 
    available, URLs for the references have been provided.

  • Equations - Equations should be placed flush-left with the text margin and should be preceded and followed by one blank line. If equations are numbered make sure that they are numbered consequently. Put the numbers in parentheses flush with the right- hand margin level with the last line of the equation.
  • Tables and Figures - Each Table and Figure must be cited in the text and in numerical order. Tables and Figures should be placed at the end of the manuscript file after Tables and Figures caption lists. Authors can to mark of the place of Tables and/or Figures in manuscript text by highlighted mark (example is listed in template file). Editorial staff reserves the right to place of the Figures and Tables elsewhere than author indicate (depending on paper edit). All notations and lettering should be no less than 2.5 mm high. The colour figures will published only in on-line version. The paper version of the article is not coloured. If it is possible, please use the figures in gray scale. Authors should label figure panels with lowercase lettering in the upper left corner of the figure panel. Photographs and figures should be prepared in gray scale or colour scale at min. 300 dpi resolution. It is recommended to insert the individual figures as supplementary files during online submission too. In the case that inserted figures will not meet minimum level of quality, editor may ask autor for the figure with higher quality. Please use following width of the figures: 70 mm or 100 mm. It is required to prepare them in vector WMF or bitmap TIFF, BMP, JPEG format (figures or illustrations prepared in MS Word will not accepted). Units in figures and tables should be inserted in parentheses, e.g. (MPa).

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in Microsoft Word or RTF document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
